Barbara makes the copper and glass baskets by placing a copper armature over the top of a small kiln. She then arranges a stack of glass on top of the armature and heats it. When the glass gets hot enough, it softens and sags through the armature. Barbara manipulates the glass as it falls to shape the body of the basket. After the basket has cooled, she forms a handle from the ends of the copper armature.
